Maryland Gazette

Maryland Gazette was a newspaper published in Annapolis, Maryland in the 18th and 19th century, with some interruptions. The title varied somewhat over time as it absorbed other newspapers. (There is a Wikipedia article about this serial.)

Publication History

Maryland Gazette began in 1727. It was known as the Maryland Gazette and Political Intelligencer from 1813 to 1824 and the Maryland Gazette and State Register from 1824 to 1826. It ceased publication in 1839. The Gazette name was picked up by the Annapolis Gazette in 1854, whose present-day successor is the Capital Gazette.
