The Monitor was a Catholic newspaper published in San Francisco. For much of its run it was the official Archdiocesan newspaper.

Publication History

The Monitor began in 1858. No issue or contribution copyright renewals were found for this serial. In 1984, it was succeeded by a monthly magazine. The current archdiocesan newpaper is called Catholic San Francisco.

• 1878-1884: The Internet Archive has volume 21, numbers 20 to volume 28, number 2, covering February 14, 1878 through October 15, 1884. It is scanned from microfilm, with uneven image quality.
• 1884-1888: The Internet Archive has volume 28, number 2 through volume 32, number 11, covering October 15, 1884 through December 12, 1888. It is scanned from microfilm, with uneven image quality.
