The New York Journal

The New York Journal was the name of a New York-based morning newspaper founded by Albert Pulitzer and later owned by William Randoplh Hearst, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Publication History

The New York Journal was founded in 1882 as the Morning Journal. An Evening Journal was spun off in the 1890s. The morning paper continued publishing under variants of the "New York Journal" name (including "The New York Journal and Advertiser") until 1902, when it was renamed the New York American.
