The National Tribune was a Washington-based newspaper published for American military veterans and their families in the 19th and early 20th centuries. (There is a Wikipedia article about this serial.)
The National Tribune began in 1877. It spun off and then later reabsorbed other periodicals such as American Standard and the National Guardsman. In the 1920s it merged with Stars and Stripes. The merged publication, which later changed its name back to Stars and Stripes, continues to this day.
