Publication History

New Orleans Medical and Surgical Journal began in 1844 as the New-Orleans Medical Journal. A new series began in 1873, but the volume numbering changed in 1896 to track the complete sequence. No issue or contribution copyright renewals were found for this serial. In 1953, the journal was renamed the Journal of the Louisiana State Medical Society, which still publishes today.
