Publication History

Norton's Literary Gazette and Publishers' Circular began in 1851 as Norton's Literary Advertiser. It began a new series in 1854. In 1855, the publication was bought by George Childs of Philadelphia, who relaunched it as the American Publishers' Circular and Literary Gazette.
