Notes and Queries

Notes and Queries is the short title of a New Hampshire-based magazine published in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It was founded, and for most of its lifespan edited, by Sylvester Clark Gould. Like the better known British "Notes and Queries", the magazine posted various questions from readers, and answers contributed by other readers. Secret societies and the occult figured particularly prominently in this magazine. The full title varied over time, as documented below.

Notes and Queries began in 1882, and ran until 1909.

• 1882-1886: The International Association for the Preservation of Spiritualist and Occult Periodicals has volumes 1 and 2, and volume 3 number 1, covering July 1882-January 1886. The first issues were published as "Miscellaneous Notes, Queries, and Answers"; this eventually shortened to "Miscellaneous Notes and Queries".
