Outdoor America

Outdoor America is the usual name of an American outdoor recreation and conservation magazine published by the Izaak Walton Society.

Publication History

Outdoor America began in 1922 as the Izaak Walton Monthly, but became Outdoor American in 1923. In 1933, it was replaced by The National Waltonian, but Outdoor America returned in a new series in 1935. It was published as 'The Izaak Walton Magazine: Outdoor America' from 1961 to 1971, but then returned to simply being called 'Outdoor America'. No issue copyright renewals were found for this serial. The first copyright-renewed contribution is from April 1929. (More details) It is still published today.
