The Ohio Democrat was the title of a newspaper published in Tuscarawas County, Ohio in the 19th century.

Publication History

The Ohio Democrat began in 1839 as The Ohio Democrat and Dover Advertiser. The name shorted in 1840 to simply The Ohio Democrat. In 1841 the newspaper moved from Canal Dover (now known simply as Dover) to New Philadelphia. All content of this serial is in the public domain in the US. The Ohio Democrat ran until 1900, when it merged with the New Philadelphia Times to form the Ohio Democrat and Times (which in turn ran until 1925).
