A'Bout Face

A'Bout Face was the title of underground periodicals published for black American soldiers stationed in Heidelberg, Germany, in the early 1970s.

Publication History

The first issue of A'Bout Face in Heideblberg was published with a dateline of June 13, 1970, by "United Brothers and Sisters". The next issue was published by "Unsatisfied Black Soldiers". The last issue to use the UBS acronym is dated August 27. 1971. Later that year, three issues of A'Bout Face (with numbering starting again at 1) were published by the Black Disciple Party. Those issues were dated September 29, November 3, and December 1, 1971. It is not clear how much continuity in writers and process there was between the UBS version and the BDP version of A'Bout Face.
