American Ecclesiastical Review was the most common title of a American theological journal published for Catholic clergy in the 19th and 20th centuries.

Publication History

American Ecclesiastical Review began in 1889. A book review supplement, The Dolphin, began in 1901 and published its own series from 1902 to 1905. American Ecclesiastical Review was renamed the Ecclesiastical Review in 1906, but resumed its original name in 1944. No issue or contribution copyright renewals were found for this serial. • 1889-1963: HathiTrust has volumes 1-77, 79-127, and 129-149. Some later issues may be searchable but not readable online here. Access to some volumes may be restricted outside the United States. Volumes 1-32, and volumes after 109, were published as the American Ecclesiastical Review; volumes 33-109 were published as The Ecclesiastical Review.
