American Documentation

American Documentation was the original title of a journal published by the American Documentation Institute.

Publication History

American Documentation began in 1950, and was announced as following in the footsteps of The Journal of Documentary Reproduction. The first actively copyright-renewed issue is Winter 1950 (v. 1 no. 1). We know of no actively copyright-renewed contributions. (More details) It ran under that title until 1969, and was thereafter renamed Journal of the American Society for Information Science, reflecting a recent change in the name of the sponsoring organization. Its present-day successor is the Journal of the Association for Information Science and Technology (JASIST).
