American Publishers' Circular and Literary Gazette was a US periodical covering and advertising American publishing, published in the 1850s and 1860s.

Publication History

American Publishers' Circular and Literary Gazette began in 1855 as the successor to Norton's Literary Gazette and Publishers' Circular. It absorbed the more literary magazine "The Criterion" in 1856. In 1863, it began a new series, which would be renamed "American Literary Gazette and Publishers' Circular" later that year.

• 1855-1858, 1860-1863: HathiTrust has volumes 1-4 and 6-8 of the original series, and the new series through April 1863, scanned from the New York Public Library.
• 1859-1863: HathiTrust also has volumes 4-8 of the original series, and the new series through October 1863, scanned from Harvard University.
