American Railroad Journal was a trade journal on US railroading, published in the 19th and 20th centuries.

Publication History

American Railroad Journal began in 1832 as "Rail-Road Journal", but shifted to American Railroad Journal by the end of the year. The title varied somewhat over time. In 1887, it merged with Van Nostrand's Engineering Magazine to become the Railroad and Engineering Journal.
