While the Attorney General position was created in 1789, today's Department of Justice, which the Attorney General heads, was not created until 1870. The Department began issuing the Annual Report of the Attorney General of the United States the following year. No issue or contribution copyright renewals were found for this serial. The Attorney General's office, and the Depaermwent of Justice, continues to publish periodic reports under different titles.
