Annual Report of the Commissioner of Internal Revenue was a US government publication summarizing collection of internal taxes (such as income taxes) over a particular year. Its exact title varied somewhat over time.
The office of the Commissioner of Internal Revenue was created in 1862 to administer the new American income tax. The first annual report of the Commissioner was published in 1862, covering the 1862-1863 fiscal year. No issue or contribution copyright renewals were found for this serial. (More details) Reports continued to be published at least into the 1990s, though in the 1980s the titles mentioned additional internal revenue officials, and by 1990 were presented as annual reports of the entire Internal Revenue Service (or IRS). The IRS continues to issue financial and performance reports, but does not appear to publish a unified annual report at present.
