Archives of Ophthalmology
Archives of Ophthalmology is the original name of a long-running ophthalmology journal now published by the American Medical Association.
Publication History
Archives of Ophthalmology began in 1869 as Archives of Opthalmology and Otology, but shortened its name to Archives of Ophthalmology in 1879. A new series began from volume 1 in 1929 when it affiliated with the AMA. It was known as AMA Archives of Opthalmology in the 1950s. The first actively copyright-renewed issue is March 1960 (v. 63 no. 3). The first actively copyright-renewed contribution is from April 1939 (v. 21 no. 4). (More details) It changed its name to JAMA Opthalmology in 2013, and continues to publish today under that name.
