Baton Rouge Tri-Weekly Gazette and Comet traces its roots to the Daily Gazette and Comet and Weekly Gazette and Comet, founded in 1856. In 1865, those papers were consolidated into Baton Rouge Tri-Weekly Gazette and Comet. All content of this serial is in the public domain in the US. . By the 1870s, Baton Rouge Tri-Weekly Gazette and Comet was being published as the Tri-Weekly Gazette-Comet. It appears to have gone out of business around 1873.
