The Bryan Eagle

The Bryan Eagle was the short title of a newspaper published in Bryan, Texas. The exact title varied over time.

Publication History

The Bryan Eagle began in 1889 as a weekly newspaper. A daily edition, the Bryan Daily Eagle, began in 1895, and was renamed the Bryan Morning Eagle in 1898. The Eagle acquired the Brazos Pilot in 1909, and then published an evening edition initially known as the Bryan Daily Eagle and Pilot. The daily paper was renamed the Bryan Daily Eagle in 1918, and ran under that title until 1969, when "Bryan" was dropped from the name. The newspaper's present-day successor, simply titled "The Eagle", covers news in Brazos County and surrounding areas.
