The Cultivator was "a monthly publication, devoted to agriculture" published in New York in the mid-18th century.
The Cultivator began in 1834. It was consolidated with Genesee Farmer following the death of J. Buel in 1839. It started a new series in 1844, and absorbed the Central New-York Farmer the following year. A third series began in 1853. After 1865 it was combined with The Country Gentleman (Albany, N.Y.) to become The Cultivator and Country Gentleman.
