Catalogue of the Annual Exhibition

Catalogue of the Annual Exhibition was a publication documenting the annual exhibition of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA). The title varied somewhat over time.

Publication History

PAFA held its first annual exhibition around 1812. The 1905 exhibition, the 74th in sequence, was titled the 100th Anniversary exhibition, and subsequent years followed that numbering past 100, continuing at least through the 160th exhibition in 1965. No issue or contribution copyright renewals were found for this serial. The current annual student exhibition appears to employ a different numbering.

• 1818, 1853, 1860, 1862, 1865, 1868-1869, 1879, 1889-1892, 1908-1918, 1920, 1922: HathiTrust has the 7th, 30th, 37th, 39th, 42nd, 45th, 46th, 50th, 59th-62nd, 103rd-113th, 115th, and 117th annual exhibition catalogues.
• 1852: The Internet Archive has the 29th annual exhibition catalogue.
• 1852-1860, 1862-1867, 1876, 1879, 1881-1882, 1884-1887, 1889-1897, 1900-1903, 1905--1921, 1923-1926: HathiTrust also has the 29th-37th, 39th-44th, 47th, 50th, 52nd, 53rd, 55th-57th, 59th-64th, 66th, 69th-72nd, 100th-116th, and 118th-121st annual exhibition catalogues. Volumes may be listed out of chronological order.
• 1857, 1896-1897, 1913-1914, 1918, 1920, 1923-1924, 1926-1928: HathiTrust also has the 34th, 66th, 108th-109th, 113th, 115th, 118th-119th, and 111th-123rd annual exhibition catalogues. Some later catalogues may be searchable but not readable online here.
• 1858: The Internet Archive has the 35th annual exhibition catalogue.
• 1858-1879: HathiTrust has the 35th-50th annual exhibition catalogues.
• 1859: The Internet Archive has the 36th annual exhibition catalogue.
• 1860: The Internet Archive has the 37th annual exhibition catalogue.
