The Canadian Journal of Industry, Science, and Art began publishing under that title in 1856. It had previously been titled "The Canadian Journal: A Repertory of Industry, Science, and Art, and a Record of the Proceedings of the Canadian Institute". It ran until 1867, and was thereafter titled The Canadian Journal of Science, Literature and History.
