The Chemical Formulary

The Chemical Formulary is a series of volumes of chemical recipes, for a long time edited by Harry Bennett.

Publication History

The Chemical Formulary published its first volume in 1933, and further volumes have been issued at irregular intervals. No issue or contribution copyright renewals were found for this serial. (More details) Volume 34, the latest volume to be published, was released in 1997. The publisher issued more specialized formulary volumes afterwards under different titles.

Persistent Archives of Complete Issues

• 1933-1961: HathiTrust has volumes 1-11, plus indexes for the first 10 volumes, scanned from the University of Michigan library. (Volume 11 may be unlabeled in the volume listings.)
• 1933-1957: HathiTrust also has volumes 1-10, plus an index for the first 6 volumes, scanned from the University of Wisconsin library. (The Index volume may be unlabeled in the volume listings.) This can be a useful backup if there is a problem with one of the Michigan scans.

• The Chemical Publishing Company is the current publisher of the series, and sells print copies of all 34 volumes.
