The Christian Cynosure

The Christian Cynosure was a publication of the National Christian Association, an American Protestant organization opposing and exposing secret societies in the 19th and 20th centuries. (There is a Wikipedia article about this serial.)

Publication History

The Christian Cynosure began publication in 1868 as a fortnightly newspaper. Its first issue was titled "The Christian Banner", but it changed to "The Christian Cynosure" from its second issue onward. A weekly edition began in 1871, and the fortnightly was absorbed into it in 1874. It shifted to a monthly magazine format in 1897. No issue or contribution copyright renewals were found for this serial. The Christian Cynosure ceased publication in 1983.
