Collier's
Collier's was a popular American magazine of literature and journalism, published in the 19th and 20th centuries. It was briefly revived in the 21st. (There is a Wikipedia article about this serial.)
Publication History
Collier's began publication in 1888 as Collier's Once a Week (which became simply Once a Week in 1889). It was renamed Collier's Weekly in 1895. While the name was shortened to "Collier's" in the early 20th century, the magazine continued to be published weekly until the 1950s. The first actively copyright-renewed issue is June 6, 1931 (v. 87 no. 23). The first actively copyright-renewed contribution is from February 2, 1929 (v. 83 no. 5). (More details) Collier's magazine ceased publication in 1957, though the Collier's name continued to be used for other publications such as an encyclopedia. A website for a new magazine named Collier's was announced around 2010, but it does not appear to have published more than a sample issue.
