The Debates and Proceedings in the Congress of the United States, also known as the Annals of Congress, was a record of the debates of the first sessions of Congress, reconstructed in the 19th century from existing records and newspaper accounts.

Publication History

The volumes covered the period from 1789 (the first session of Congress) to 1824. The serial volumes themselves were published between 1834 and 1856. After 1824, records of Congressional debates were published contemporaneously, in the journals mentioned in the related links below.
