Country Life

Country Life was an American magazine on country living. (There is a Wikipedia article about this serial.)

Publication History

Country Life began in 1901 as Country Life in America. It was renamed The New Country Life in 1917, and Country Life in the War in 1918, before adopting Country Life by itself as a title. No issue copyright renewals were found for this serial. The first copyright-renewed contribution is from December 1935. (More details) It merged with The Sportsman in 1937, and was known for a few issues thereafter as Country Life and the Sportsman. It ceased publication in 1942.

• 1901-1923, 1925-1929: HathiTrust has volumes 1-23, 25-27, 29-44, 48, 50, 52-53, and 55. Some later volumes may be searchable but not readable online here.
• 1901-1917: HathiTrust has another collection with volumes 1-31, most of which were published under the Country Life in America title.
• 1926-1927: The Internet Archive has volume 51, covering November 1926 through April 1927.
• 1928: The Internet Archive has volume 54, covering May through October 1928.
• 1928-1929: The Internet Archive has volume 55, covering November 1928 through April 1929.
• 1940: The Internet Archive has volume 78, covering May through October 1940.
• 1940-1941: The Internet Archive has volume 79, covering November 1940 through April 1941.
• 1941: The Internet Archive has volume 80, covering May through October 1941.
• 1941-1942: The Internet Archive has volume 81, and volume 82 number 2. Volume 81 covers November 1941 to April 1942, Volume 82 number 2 was the June 1942 issue, the last to be published.
