presents serial archive listings for

The Daily Alaskan

The Daily Alaskan was the common name for a newspaper published in Skagway, Alaska, in the last 19th and early 20th century.

Publication History

The Daily Alaskan began in February 1898 as The Morning Alaskan, but was renamed The Daily Alaskan two weeks later. It became The Daily Morning Alaskan in 1899 (though the front page banner could easily be read "Daily Alaskan"), and officially reverted to The Daily Alaskan in 1904. Publication became three times a week rather than daily in 1919, though the newspaper retained the name The Daily Alaskan. It ceased publication in 1924.
