The Dial was an American Transcendentalist magazine published in the 1840s, and edited by Margaret Fuller and Ralph Waldo Emerson.
The Dial began in 1840. It ceased publication in 1844, but inspired a number of later magazines that adopted the same name (and that are listed separately).
