The Etude was a journal on music published by Theodore Presser Co. in the 19th and early 20th centuries. The exact title varied somewhat over time. (There is a Wikipedia article about this serial.)
The Etude began in 1883. It absorbed Brainard's Musical World in 1895. The first copyright-renewed issue is February 1953 (v. 71 no. 2). The first copyright-renewed contribution is from October 1946 (v. 64 no. 10). (More details) The Etude ran until 1957.
