The Englishman was a political journal published in London by Richard Steele.

Publication History

Steele began The Englishman in October 1713 as the sequel to the Guardian, a daily journal. The Englishman was initially published three times a week, then semiweekly. Publication of the first series ceased with number 57, dated February 15, 1714. A second series ran for 38 issues from July 11 to November 21, 1715.
