Geology and Mining Series

Geology and Mining Series was a series of geological monographs published as part of the Univerity of Nevada Bulletins. The series was explicitly named part-way through its run.

Publication History

The first publication in the University of Nevada's Geology and Mining Series was published in 1904, as the first issue of the University's Bulletin of the Department of Geology and Mining. Beginning with number 31 in 1939, publications were explicitly named as numbered issues of the Geology and Mining Series. Number 34 in 1940 retroactively designated and numbered the first 30 issues of the series. No issue or contribution copyright renewals were found for this serial. (More details) The series ran until number 51 in 1953, and was then succeeded by the Bulletin of the Nevada Bureau of Mines.

Persistent Archives of Complete Issues

• 1904-1936, 1943-1946, 1950: HathiTrust has numbers 1-16, 18-26, 38-44, and 49. Access may be restricted outside the United States. Some other Bulletins may be searchable but not readable online here.
• 1936: HathiTrust has number 27, "Placer Mining in Nevada". Access may be restricted outside the United States.
• 1936: HathiTrust has number 28, "Geology of the Silver City District and the Southern Portion of the Comstock Lode, Nevada". Access may be restricted outside the United States.
• 1937-1941: HathiTrust also has numbers 29-36. Access may be restricted outside the United States. Retrospective designation of the first 30 issues in the series can be found at the end of number 34.
• 1943: HathiTrust has number 37, "The History of the Comstock Lode, 1850-1920". Access may be restricted outside the United States. The Nevada Bureau of Mines and Geology notes that this publication was superseded by their Special Publication 24.
• 1948: HathiTrust has number 48, "A Contribution to the Published Information on the Geology and Ore Deposits of Goldfield, Nevada". Access may be restricted outside the United States.
