Publication History

The Hawk-Eye began in June 1843, succeeding the earlier Hawk-Eye and Iowa Patriot, which had ended 12 weeks earlier. It officially became the Burlington Hawk-Eye in 1845. Later temporary titles reflected the paper's weekly or tri-weekly frequency and its absorptions of the Burlington Telegraph and later of the Burlington Gazette. No issue or contribution copyright renewals were found for this serial. (More details) It continues to publish today in Burlington as The Hawk Eye.
