The Iowa City Republican was the main name of a newspaper published in Iowa City in the 19th and early 20th century.
The Iowa City Republican began in 1848 as the Iowa Republican (succeeding the Iowa Standard). It was renamed the Iowa Weekly Republican in 1855, and the Iowa City Republican in 1862. Different day's editions between 1876 to 1902 were also named the Iowa City Daily Republican and the Iowa City Weekly Republican. (Some were also named the Iowa City Evening Republican.) The newspaper was then renamed the Iowa Farm Republic in 1920 before resuming the Iowa City Republican name in 1921. In 1922 it became the Johnson County News before ceasing publication the following year.
