Publication History

Journal of the Chemical Society began publishing under this title in 1862, succeeding The Quarterly Journal of the Chemical Society of London and continuing its volume numbering. It was divided into Abstracts and Transactions sections from 1878 through 1925, which recombined in 1926. No issue or contribution copyright renewals were found for this serial. (More details) In 1966, it was split into three journals covering different subfields of chemistry.

• 1862-1928: HathiTrust has volumes 15-82, part of 83, volumes 84-128, and the 1926-1928 volumes freely readable online, along with some volumes of this journal's predecessor. Access to volumes after 1898 may be restricted outside the United States. (We think this listing includes both Abstracts and Transactions sections for 1878-1925, but let us know if any sections are missing for particular years and we'll look for needed scans.)
