Journal of the Elisha Mitchell Scientific Society began in 1883. No issue or contribution copyright renewals were found for this serial. It ran until 2001, and was succeeded by the Journal of the North Carolina Academy of Science (which had taken over management of the journal in the 1980s, and continued its volume numbering into the new title).
