Journal of the House of Commons

The Journal of the House of Commons, also known as the House of Commons Journal or just the Commons Journal, is the minute book of the House of Commons, the lower house of the British Parliament (and currently the house that holds primary governing responsibility for the UK).

Publication History

The journal covers the period from 1547 to the present, though the actual publication in this form started in 1802. New volumes are now published annually.

• 1547-1699, 1830: British History Online has volumes 1-12, and volume 85.

Official Site / Current Material

• The official UK Parliament web site has information on the House of Commons, and links to some digitized records of proceedings. Current volumes are only made available in paper form, and are sold through the Parliamentary Bookshop.
