Journal of the Optical Society of America began in 1917. It was known as Journal of the Optical Society of America and Review of Scientific Instruments from 1922 to 1929. The first actively copyright-renewed issue is December 1951 (v. 41 no. 12). We know of no actively copyright-renewed contributions.
