The Journal of Prison Discipline and Philanthropy was an annual publication of what is now the Pennsylvania Prison Society, on prisoner welfare and reform.
The Journal of Prison Discipline and Philanthropy began publication in 1845 as the Pennsylvania Journal of Prison Discipline and Philanthropy. In 1862, a new series began. The journal ceased publication in 1920, and was followed in 1921 by a successor journal, Prison Journal, that is still published today.
