The Journal of Physical Chemistry was name of an American chemistry journal published for 50 years in the late 19th and early 20th century.
The Journal of Physical Chemistry began in 1896. The first actively copyright-renewed issue is January 1941 (v. 45 no. 1). We know of no actively copyright-renewed contributions. (More details) It ran under that title until 1946, and was then succeeded by the Journal of Physical and Colloid Chemistry. (That journal would then be renamed The Journal of Physical Chemistry in 1952.) The journal has since split up into multiple series that continue today.
