Publication History

Journal of the Royal Asiatic Society began in 1834 as the Journal of the Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland, publishing 20 volumes in its original series. A second series of 21 volumes began in 1865. In 1890, volumes became numbered by the year. No issue or contribution copyright renewals were found for this serial. (More details) The journal adopted its current shorter name, and started a new series from volume 1, in 1991. It is still published today.
