Petermanns Geographische Mitteilungen was the best-known name of a German geographical journal founded in the mid-19th century by August Petermann that published until the early 21st century.
Petermanns Geographische Mitteilungen began in 1855 as Mittheilungen aux Justus Perthes' Geographischer Anstalt über Wichtige Neue Erforschungen auf dem Gasammtgebeite der Geographie. It went through various title changes thereafter, but after Petermann's death in 1878 was generally known by some variant of Petermann's Mitteilungen. The title settled on Petermanns Geographische Mitteilungen in 1933. No issue or contribution copyright renewals were found for this serial. (More details) Petermanns Geographische Mitteilungen ceased publication in 2004.
