The Pharmaceutical Journal

The Pharmaceutical Journal is the official journal of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, based in London. The title has varied somewhat over time. (There is a Wikipedia article about this serial.)

Publication History

The Pharmaceutical Journal began in 1841 as Pharmaceutical Journal and Transactions. The title shortened to The Pharmaceutical Journal in 1895, changed to The Pharmaceutical Journal and Pharmacist in 1909, and reverted to The Pharmaceutical Journal in 1933. The journal's first series ran 18 volumes from to 1841 to 1859. Its second series ran 11 volumes from 1859 to 1870. Its third series ran 25 volumes from 1870 to 1895. Its fourth series started in 1895, and was numbered both by series and by overall "complete series" publication. (Hence, volume 1 of the fourth series was also volume 55 of the "complete series"). Eventually, later volumes were only numbered based on the "complete series". No issue or contribution copyright renewals were found for this serial. (More details) It is still published today.
