The Pioche Record

The Pioche Record was the name of a newspaper published in Pioche, Nevada. The full title varied somewhat over the years, and often included the newspaper's frequency.

Publication History

The Pioche Record began in 1872 as the Pioche Daily Record, succeeding the Ely Record and continuing its volume numbering. It became The Pioche Tri-Weekly Record in 1876, and then The Pioche Weekly Record in 1877. It was renamed the Lincoln County Record in 1900, reverted to The Pioche Weekly Record in 1906, and shortened its name to The Pioche Record in 1908. The name then became Lincoln County Record in 1925 before resuming as The Pioche Record in 1932, and finally switching back to Lincoln County Record in 1968, a name retained to this day.
