Railway Age Gazette, Mechanical Edition was the name of a railroad engineering journal in the early 20th century, part of a long line of such journals published under various names.

Publication History

Railway Age Gazette, Mechanical Edition began in 1913, after the company publishing the Railway Age Gazette acquired the American Engineer and Railroad Journal. It continued the issue numbering of the absorbed journal, and hence began in the middle of volume 87. It published under the name Railway Age Gazette, Mechanical Edition until 1915 (with "Including the American Engineer" as a subtitle), and then changed its name to Railway Mechanical Engineer in 1916.

Persistent Archives of Complete Issues

• 1913: The Internet Archive has volume 87. The first few issues are titled "American Engineer", with a subtitle "Including the Railway Age Gazette 'Shop Edition'". The new title was used beginning with the June issue (volume 87 number 6).
• 1914: The Internet Archive has volume 88.
• 1915: The Internet Archive has volume 89.
