Publication History

Royal Photographic Society Journal began in 1853 as the Journal of the Photographic Society of London. A new series began in 1876 under the title The Photographic Journal, though the overall series numbering was eventually used alongside the new series numbering. No issue or contribution copyright renewals were found for this serial. (More details) The journal was renamed RPS Journal in 1999. It is still published today.

• 1853-1864: HathiTrust has volumes 1-8 of The Journal of the Photographic Society of London.
• 1854, 1894-1922: HathiTrust also has volume 2, and 35-62 (new series volumes 19-46). Access to volumes after 1898 may be restricted outside the United States.
• 1873-1876: HathiTrust also has volume 16 of The Journal of the Photographic Society of London.
• 1921-1928: HathiTrust also has volumes 61-68 (new series volumes 45-52). Access may be restricted outside the United States. Some later volumes may be searchable but not readable online here.
