Publication History
St. Nicholas began publication with the November 1873 issue. The first actively copyright-renewed issue is January 1929 (v. 56 no. 3). The first actively copyright-renewed contribution is from April 1929. (More details) St. Nicholas ceased publication in the 1940s.
Persistent Archives of Complete Issues
- 1873-1926, 1928: HathiTrust has volumes 1-52, and parts of volumes 53 and 55, in page image form. Some later volumes are available for search but not for reading online.
- 1873-1897: The University of Florida has online some of the issues in volume 1, and all of the issues in volumes 2-24, covering 1873 through October 1897, in page image form.
- 1877-1878, 1886: Project Gutenberg has illustrated transcriptions of volume 5, and of some issues from volume 13. Volume 5 covers November 1877 through October 1878.
