Scandinavian Studies and Notes began publishing under this name in 1917, succeeding Publications of the Society for the Advancement of Scandinavian Study and continuing its volume numbering, hence starting with volume 4. No issue or contribution copyright renewals were found for this serial. (More details) In 1941, the journal was renamed Scandinavian Studies.
