Social Forces began publishing under that title in 1925, succeeding The Journal of Social Forces and continuing its issue numbering. The first copyright-renewed issue is October 1948 (v. 27 no. 1). The first copyright-renewed contribution is from October 1950 (v. 29 no. 1). (More details) It is still published today.
