The Nation

The Nation is a long-running American progressive political magazine. (There is a Wikipedia article about this serial.)

Publication History

The Nation was founded in 1865. Many of the founders had also worked on The Liberator, an abolitionist magazine that ended that year after its primary goal was accomplished. In its early days, The Nation also covered literature, science, and art. The first copyright-renewed issue is January 7, 1950 (v. 170 no. 1). The first copyright-renewed contribution is from March 6, 1929. (More details) It is still published today.
